Kathryn Dawn Lang or popularly known as K.D. Lang, was born on November 2, 1961 and is a Grammy Award-winning Canadian singer and songwriter. She was first drawn to country music when she attended college, and became fascinated with the life and music of Patsy Cline and there she was determined to pursue a career as a professional singer. When K.D. Lang formed a Patsy Cline tribute band and released a debut album, it eventually led to national attention in Canada.

Born September 27, 1984, Avril Lavigne is a Canadian Grammy award-nominated pop punk musician and actress. In 2007, she won 9th place in the Jabra music contest for the Best Band in the World category, based on fan votes from all over the world. Since her debut album in 2002 entitled Let Go, her albums have sold more than 30 million worldwide.

The Great Lake Swimmers is a Canadian indie-pop band based on the melodic folk rock songs of singer-songwriter Tony Dekker from Ontario. The musical style of the band has been compared to those of the Red House Painters, Nick Drake, Will Oldham, Gram Parsons, Sufjan Stevens, Iron&Wine, and Neil Young.

Alanis Morissette was born in Ottawa on June 01, 1974 and is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, record producer, an occasional actress. She has won 12 Juno Awards and 7 Grammy Awards, and has sold more than 60 million albums all over the world.

Her international debut album, Jagged Little Pill holds the title as the best selling debut album by a female artist in the US, and the highest selling debut album worldwide in the history of music. She is also one of the top 20 best selling female artists in music and is the best selling female rock artist ever.

Eva Avila is a Canadian singer from Gatineau, Quebec and the winner of 2006 Canadian Idol, the second female winner.

She has been singing since the age of 2 as her father introduced her to music, and at a young age has won various talent shows. She is fluent in French, English and Spanish, her father being from Peru.

Jann Arden Anne Richards or popularly known as Jann Arden, was born on March 27, 1962 and is an award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter. She was born in Calgary, Alberta and her fan base is also primarily in Canada.

Just this February 2007, Jann Arden released her 9th album entitled Uncover Me, which featured mainly cover songs except for one. During spring of the same year, she also toured across Canada  however, she was admitted to intensive care for heart related concerns. But still, she held the 2007 USA Summer tour with Michael Buble.

Allison Louise Crowe was born on November 16, 1981 and is a Canadian singer, songwriter and pianist. She grew up surrounded by jazz, classical, and rock music, and plays all of these genres, making her music difficult to categorize.

What makes Allison Crowe stand apart from the rest is her remarkable ability to perform live, and her uniquely distinct voice - which has often been compared to that of Mahalia Jackson’s.

Paul Albert Anka was born on July 30, 1941 in Ontario and is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actor. During the late 50s, he was a famous teen idol and went on to write well known music, including the English lyrics for Frank Sinatra’s signature song “My Way,” which is the video below.
