Criollo is a Montreal-based Latin, hip-hop band. Their music draws from bachata, hip-hop, reggae, Latin and R&B influences, and is sung in Spanish. The band formed in 2003 include four members; Salvador “Sol” Valdez, Jose “Chiro” Mata, Alexis “El Gordo” Grullon and Gilbert “Giby” Capellan.

This led to his signing to an internationally distributed label, BEC Recordings under the Uprok Records label, and his debut release Epiphany, which was made primarily of West Coast hip hop with several rapcore outings in the vein of Limp Bizkit.

Organized Rhyme’s musical formula focused on three principal facets: catchy beats, simplistic choruses, and clever rhymes. The formula proved itself to be profitable: the group’s first single, Check the O.R. , was nominated for a Juno Award in 1993 for Best Rap Recording.
