Criollo – Calle

Criollo is a Montreal-based Latin, hip-hop band. Their music draws from bachata, hip-hop, reggae, Latin and R&B influences, and is sung in Spanish. The band formed in 2003 include four members; Salvador “Sol” Valdez, Jose “Chiro” Mata, Alexis “El Gordo” Grullon and Gilbert “Giby” Capellan.

Manafest – Rodeo

Chris Greenwood, better known by his stage name Manafest, is a Canadian Christian rapper from Toronto, Ontario. He is also a skater, which led to his career in hip hop; after an accident in 1998, he took time to focus on rap and was noticed by Trevor McNevan of Ontario-based band Thousand Foot Krutch. This led to his signing to an internationally distributed label, BEC Recordings under the Uprok Records label, and his debut release Epiphany, which was made primarily of West Coast hip hop with several rapcore outings in the vein of Limp Bizkit.

Loco Locass – Sheila Chu Là

Loco Locass are an hip hop group from Quebec formed in 1995. The group often defends the role of the French language in Canada, and champions Quebec sovereignty. Loco Locass’ lyrics often deal with the role of the French language, and Quebec’s role in Canada. Songs such as ROC Rap and Résistance highlight the band’s political leanings, and their strong advocation for Quebec to secede from Canada.

Organized Rhyme – Check The O.R.

Organized Rhyme was a short-lived Canadian hip-hop group based in Ottawa, renowned primarily for the fame later achieved by one of its members, comedian Tom Green. Organized Rhyme’s musical formula focused on three principal facets: catchy beats, simplistic choruses, and clever rhymes. The formula proved itself to be profitable: the group’s first single, Check the O.R. , was nominated for a Juno Award in 1993 for Best Rap Recording.
